Will the Sun Station work on an uneven surface?
When used as a submersible stool, the Sun Station will function on an uneven surface. It is not recommended for use on an uneven surface; however, when being used as an umbrella holder/table top. As with any uneven or sloped surface, drinks may not stay securely in place on the table top, and the product will be more prone to tipping.
Why are the drink indents the size that they are? Why won’t they hold larger cups?
The drink holder sizes are based on cans and plastic cups. We discourage the use of glassware in pools, and have based our cup sizing on cans and cups.
Does the Sun Station come in different colors?
Not at this time. We are currently working on LED installs that will work only with the translucent Sun Station. In the future; however, we may offer additional colors.
Can I use any umbrella?
The Sun Station works best in the water with beach umbrellas that are 7’ or less. In addition, umbrella’s with pointed poles are recommended. While flat bottom poles will work as well, the user should use caution when inserting the pole (to keep from crushing the pedals). When used out of the water, just about any size umbrella will perform well.
Can the Sun Station be used as a stool out of the water?
While the Sun Station is durable, and will work as an out of water stool, we will not guarantee it as such. It’s works best as a submersible stool.
Why is the Sun Station designed to rise at a height of no more than 40”?
The Sun Station’s height is based on national pool depth standards for wading areas. It’s also noted that insurance companies demand certain depth requirements for in ground pools. In most cases, wading areas for in-ground pools can’t exceed 36 inches (3 feet).
Will the Sun Station sink without the small weight installed?
No. The product is made with plastic that is lighter than water. This is a positive attribute in that it will not sink immediately when boating, etc. The small weight, filled with either sand or lead shot (bb’s), is required in order to keep the product in place while in use within water.
